Staining

Protecting Your Redwood Fence

Preserve your fence against rotting, bugs,  warping, cracking, and splitting!

Find out more

Congrats on your new fence! Here is what you need to know.

It is important to keep in mind that your fence was built with a natural product, REDWOOD.  Like any other natural material, as the weather changes so will the wood/fence.

When the weather warms up the wood will begin shrink, crack, and warp; once the weather cools down the fence will adjust. Cracks may form almost immediately, but this does not affect a fence's stability. It's somewhat like a paper cut, its an irritating feeling and can seem startling but at the end of the day, your finger will heal and return to normal function shortly.

Under the rain, the wood will expand since it is absorbing the water.  For gates, it is likely that they will seem to get  "stuck", however, it is not something to worry, the gate will go back to normal.

Other situations that may cause you to raise worry would be knots falling out, the boards splitting and or warping. This is all natural wood wear and tear. Rest-assured  your fence will remain intact and secure. It is only an aesthetic concern.

Staining for Preventative Measures

With that said, there are ways to help prevent the above from happening. That is STAINING.

Wood staining not only adds a naturally pigmented color, it also protects your fence from wood deterioration due to the changing weather conditions and normal wear & tear.

Benefits of Staining:

- Ultraviolet Protection

- Environmentally Friendly

- Fights Rotting & Bugs

- Natural Color Finishes

- Helps Prevent Cracks & Peeling

- Prevents Moisture Damage

Protect your beautiful new home addition before it's too late.
